Lassen Union High School has established a Technology Advisory Committee in compliance with our Enhancing Education Through Technology plan objectives. The purpose of this committee is to guide the use of technology in the District and recommend ways to use technology in the classroom to improve student learning.


LTAC Meeting Highlights

 
December 13, 2012- Common Core was discussed, specifically in relation to how technology fits into achieving Common Core Standards in the different subject areas. A Tech Survey was reviewed which would be distributed to classroom teachers. This survey would help to determine (self-evaluated) teacher usage and knowledge of the current technology and wishes for future technology.


September 20, 2012- (Meeting rescheduled from 9/13)- New phone system to be deployed the week of 10/1/12. teachers will not see a difference, though support staff will. Funding Sources for eBooks discussed and pricing was found to be about 2/3's the cost of a hard bound book, though we would only have the eBook for 6 or 12 months on a lease program


May 22, 2012 - BYOD (Bring Your Own Devices) was discussed from the standpoint of cost, benefits, policies that will need to be implemented, security risks, and training needed.


March 1, 2012 - Introductory meeting to acquiant all members with the set goals and expections of these meetings. We started to discuss BYOD and the impact it will have on learning.
